A Grand Old Hen

Best momma hen and fine layer.
Always finely preened.
Friendly, but not too much so.
Built very much like my dear grandmother, cankles and all.

Rosie, you had a fine life and I was happy to help you out of it once it became apparent that you were suffering.

  1. I can see at least two babies. Good for that sweet mama.

  2. Razzberry and Leenie, I'm sorry led you to believe that I had new chicks. :( I got a new iPad and for some reason the text didn't show up on the post. I've obviously fixed that this morning. Rosie, was indeed, a fine momma! I let her raise two sets of chicks.

  3. I love my chickens just like my cats and dogs. I'm sorry for your loss.

  4. I'm so sorry, CeeCee. I know it must have been a very sad day for you. Rosie was lucky to be loved so much. She lived almost seven years, and I'm sure that's a testament to the wonderful home you provided her.

RIP, Rosie. I know you will be missed.
