Knit Wit

Is it considered knitting if
you use
a knitting loom?
Darice 1171-58 Set of 4 Round Plastic Knitting Looms
It was so easy, it felt like I must be cheating.
Certainly not knitting.
How could I be knitting if I didn't have my knitting needles.

This little carnival of a hat is headed to Wisconsin where they have real winters.
We have pretend winters here in Texas. Today it's 69* and sunny.
Today in Wisconsin, it's getting all the way up to 13* with winds out of the NW at 10.
That's real winter.
The little Ladybug that this hat is headed to, needs to stay warm.
Might as well have fun clothes to do it in.

  3. Bella AND her mama will LOVE LOVE LOVE this :) I can't wait. I LOVE hats on her tiny little head and I've been searching high and low for a cute hat for her baby brothers newborn pictures in March, I may have to hire you to make one! :) Or maybe you could just open shop on etsy and I can buy one, food for thought there, make money while having fun and being crafty!

Who's the wee one in KC? I'm clueless, seriously.

  8. Ohmygosh - that hat makes me smile and feel warm all over! Even as our temps creep up to the lower 20s and the snow continues to fall.... That is the cutest darn hat I've ever seen. I may just have to get myself one of those loom thingys. I've seen them, but wasn't sure I'd actually use one. I'd definitely make a happy hat like that, and wear it! You knitted a hat!!!!

  9. That is is the cutest hat! Of course it is knitting with a loom. My granddaughter does this all the time and she would be horrified if I told her it didn't qualify as knitting. Really cute.

  10. Thanks for all the nice comments.
I figure a little color might help with the doldrums of winter.

Sarah, you can count on a newborn hat. You just need to pick out a yarn and then let me know the manufacturer and color name.

Penny, you can sssoooo make a hat on one of these looms!

    Jen, thanks for dropping by.

Vonda, I'm glad it's knitting. :) We wouldn't want your sweet GD think otherwise.

Warren, I guess you might need a hat or two in W.-by- God-Virginia.

  11. Yep, it's still knitting if you're turning yarn into something to use or wear.
Those looms are the only kind of knitting I do and I do a lot. I've made scarves, hats, leg warmers, dog sweaters, even blankets using round and straight looms. Lots of fun and like you said super easy!

That little hat is a party for the head. What a lucky little someone to have it to keep her head warm.
